Messner Ein- & Verkaufs GmbH is a family-owned meat and sausage producer based in Stainz, Styria, Austria. Founded in 1934, the company is now run by the fifth generation. What began with the production of Krainer sausages has developed into a modern business offering more than 300 different meat and sausage products, crafted with traditional methods and a strong connection to regional values. Messner’s philosophy is straightforward and honest: few, high-quality ingredients, no flavor enhancers, and only meat of 100 percent Austrian origin. The company places great importance on quality, regional sourcing, and integrity in food production, following the motto: "It matters what you eat." The product range includes a variety of specialties, such as snacks and dry sausages like cheese bites, Landjäger, and Hauswürstel, classic sausages like Frankfurters, Käsekrainer, and Debreziner, as well as cold cuts and ham products like Extrawurst, Krakauer, and Frikandeau. The selection is rounded off with spreadable delicacies such as liver pâté, Verhackertes, and Zwieberl. Messner has received several awards for its commitment to quality. Recent recognitions include the Market Institute Quality Award 2025 and honors at the Product Champion competition, including bronze for the “Genuss Schinken” in 2022 and gold for the Beef Brisket in 2021. In addition to its production facilities, Messner operates a delicatessen shop at the main square in Stainz. There, freshly prepared lunch dishes are served daily, complemented by a wide selection of takeaway platters, cold buffets, pre-seasoned roasts, and marinated grill products.
