Wine has been part of Esterhazy for centuries: the first evidence of Esterhazy winegrowing in Burgenland dates back to 1612, and cellar records go back to 1758. For almost two decades, the vinification of grapes has found a new, contemporary home in Trausdorf near the Leithaberg. In 2023, a new important milestone was reached with the completion of organic certification. The interplay of different microclimates and the consistent avoidance of irrigation result in expressive cool-climate wines, which are divided into a three-tiered pyramid of origin: regional wine, local wine and single vineyard wine. The result: elegant wines with a mineral character that reflect the uniqueness of the terroir.
